Profile of a woman woodchopper and sawyer.
At age 21 and only her second year in the sport, Mikhayla Tainui-McLean of Otorohanga New Zealand is already making a name for herself in the sport of Woodchopping. She was selected in 2016 to be a member of the Axeferns, the national women's representative team of New Zealand.
Mikhayla is completing a teaching degree at the University of Waikato.
Mikki's other sporting interests include netball, basketball and touch rugby.
The ultimate reward in 2016, besides the national selection to represent her country was the recognition bestowed by the Royal Sydney Show of the Annual Achievement Prize, one of five special awards given each year.
